Wenning’s Wedding Tip Wednesday
Wedding videography is something that people usually think to be frivolous. As long as you have photos you should be able to remember the key parts of your special day, right? You would think that would be the case but not always. So many times, we have clients watch their wedding video just to say to us, “I didn’t even know that was going on!” For others, a lost loved one may be remembered during that video as being healthy and in good spirits. Whatever your reason, including wedding videography in your overall budget is something to consider.
Try not to be sticker-shocked when you hear the cost of videography. Pricing can range anywhere from $3000-$7000 depending on the package and videographer you choose. The cost for this vendor goes beyond just an 8-10-hour day the day of your wedding. There is additional 60-80 hours of editing that go into completing your final project! Your wedding videographer has to thoroughly edit both video and audio files from multiple cameras during post work as well as add color corrections just to name a few of the tasks they will have to complete.
Some wedding videographers have add-on services included in their packages and other may have those same services a la carte. Whichever route you choose, be sure that you read through your contract throughly and ask questions if you need any clarity.
